Clare recently passed a Level 3 award in Nutrition and Healthy Eating which was awarded by the RSPH. Clare says "I passed the level 2 qualification a few months ago. The level 3 qualification builds on that earlier knowledge and I now feel really confident to advise customers on how to eat healthily or to cope with feeding someone with special dietary needs".
BBC Radio Solent
Here's Clare being interviewed by Roger Hammett from BBC Radio Solent. Clare was invited to take part in an event being hosted by Radio Solent and held at a local primary school. October 2014.
Clare was on the breakfast show of BBC Radio Solent in December answering questions from listeners on Christmas cooking as well as giving out hints and tips as to how to create a stress-free Christmas dinner.
After School Bake Off
We had a very exciting end of term where the after school cookery clubs staged a bake off. The Tuesday group chose to make cookies which included Easter rocky roads and chocolate chip cookies. The Wednesday group chose cakes as their theme and we had, among others, coffee cake and a lemon drizzle.
The results all looked and tasted amazing and it was so hard to choose a winner. But first place went to Mia (Tuesday) for her chocolate chip cookies and to Charlotte (Wednesday) for a beautifully decorated coffee cake. Well done everyone for all your hard work!
Food Blog !
The after school club had a visitor recently. We welcomed a BBC journalist called Sophia Seth who writes a food blog in her spare time. She came along with a cameraman and made a short film about the club.
I was a little worried that the filming might be a distraction from the important task of cooking, but not a bit of it. The children took it all in their stride and just got on with the job at hand. What stars they all are and I’m so proud of all my budding cooks.

ASDA Mum & Kids Day, Eastleigh 28 April 2012
Clare took along a display of homemade cupcakes to ASDA as part of the above event. She left them behind afterwards for the ASDA staff to enjoy. Apparently they disappeared in about five minutes flat!
Marmalade and Lemon Curd Workshop
Clare carried out a demonstration of how to make Seville oraage marmalade and lemon curd on behalf of the slow Food solent group.
